About the Health Talent Alliance
The Health Talent Alliance of Northern Indiana (HTA) brings together healthcare employers, educators, and community partners to strengthen the healthcare workforce across our region. We serve Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, and St. Joseph Counties.
Why We Exist
Healthcare employers and educational institutions across our region have gathered to address a growing challenge:
There simply aren’t enough people entering and staying in healthcare careers to meet demand.
Hospitals, clinics, training programs, and schools recognized the need for stronger collaboration and a clearer pathway for students and families to enter the healthcare field.
Serving North Central Indiana
Today, HTA represents a coordinated effort across five counties:
St. Joseph
Elkhart
Fulton
Marshall
Kosciusko
Our Focus Areas
1. Job Forecasting
We analyze workforce data to understand the healthcare roles our region needs, both now and in the future.
By identifying workforce gaps, we help align education, training, and employer needs using a talent pipeline management model developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
2. Career Exploration
We help students understand:
Entry ways available in their community
Education and training pathways
Starting-point roles and long-term growth opportunities
Our website serves as a central hub for career exploration across the region — bringing together information that was previously scattered and difficult to access.
3. Attraction & Retention
Choosing a healthcare career is only the first step. Retaining skilled professionals is just as important.
Healthcare careers can come with high levels of stress and burnout. HTA works with employers and community partners to identify solutions that help healthcare professionals build sustainable, long-term careers right here in North Central Indiana.
